We at KCSPR are blessed to have special insight and knowledge about the prison population in the KDOC. We know which prisoner's are still battling their addictions and thinking with the criminal mindset, and which ones have truly turned their lives around to be productive citizens. To this end, we are select-ing qualified prisoners who have to see the Prisoner Review Board and ask for parole to sponsor through the organization. We are encouraging everyone in the State to sign the petition in support of the release on parole of our sponsored prisoners. In the Words of Jeffery Sperry 

In November 1995, I was consumed with a drug addiction and was immersed in the drug culture. While a lot of good people get caught up in that lifestyle, a lot of very bad people lurk there too. Unfortunately, I ran into one of those people, he tried to run me over, and a single gunshot went through his windshield. He died from his injury and I was convicted of murder by the corrupt regime that controlled Wyandotte County at that time. I truly believed my actions were justified and sought to prove that at jury trial. My defense attorney was disciplined three times and permanently dis-barred for incompetence during the time he botched my case, but the courts don't care.
I have spent the last 25 years studying law and assisting prisoners with their legal issues. I competed a 915 hour paralegal certification program and graduated with distinction with an overall score of 99.15%. I have also earned over 70 certificates in rehabilitation and education rograms taht include drug programs, anger managment, college courses, and entre-reneurship programs, to name a few. From '04-'07, I created and ran the COGENT Program in an effort to improve our deplorable corrections system. Iam currently a regular contributor adn advisor to the Kansas Coalition or Sentence and prison Reform.
Between 1999 & 2015, I received over 20 DR's (disciplinary reports) for dealing & trading, gambling, three for cellphones, but most were for small amounts of contraband (tobacco & synthetic marijuana). I supported myself and my children by doing legal work for others and quite often I had to accept payment through the prison barter system (i.e. whatever they could hustled up). When I got within 5 years of my parole date, I determined to never get another DR, and have done just that. My life-style caused me to catch this case so I swore off drugs the day I was arrested. In 25 years I have had 30 drug tests and passed them all.
I currently work with several lawyers and upon being paroled I will start my paralegal service. I also plan to start a paralegal training program for other qualified prisoners. I already have investors lined up to finance these endeavors. Studies have established that three groups of prisoners have the lowest recidivism rates: (1) those who have served over 10 years straight, 1-11%; (2) those over 45, 0-5%; and (3) those who have earned a degree, 0-1%. Those who check all 3 boxes, like I do, have a 0% recidivism rate. My continued incarceration serves no purpose, is a waste of taxpayer dollars, and postpones the positive things I have planned for my release. For this reason, I ask that you sign this petition in support of my release on parole. Thank you.
