Subject: Request for a Direct Manchester (MAN) → Perugia (PEG) Route

We, the undersigned, are calling on Ryanair to introduce a direct flight between Manchester Airport (MAN) and Perugia Airport (PEG) to improve connectivity between the North West of England and the region of Umbria, Italy.

At present, there are no direct flights linking Manchester and Perugia, despite strong and growing demand. Thousands of travellers from the North West— including tourists, homeowners, students, and people with family or business ties to Umbria, Tuscany, and surrounding regions — must currently travel via London or take indirect, time-consuming routes.

Why This Route Matters

1. Strong UK–Umbria travel demand

Perugia and the wider Umbria region continue to grow in popularity with UK travellers for holidays, second homes, weddings, countryside tourism, and cultural events. Many UK visitors currently fly into Rome, Pisa, Florence, or Bologna, then travel several hours by train or car.

2. Manchester serves a huge population

Manchester Airport is the main gateway for over 7 million people living across:

Greater Manchester
Merseyside & Liverpool
Cheshire
Lancashire
Cumbria
North Wales

A direct flight would immediately open up a large and underserved customer base.

3. Perugia is a strategic growth airport for Ryanair

Ryanair has announced clear plans to expand operations at Perugia, including adding new European routes in the coming years. A Manchester–Perugia service would support these growth goals, stimulate regional tourism, and strengthen Ryanair’s presence in central Italy.

4. Economic benefits on both sides

UK travellers gain a convenient, affordable route to central Italy.
Italian tourism, hospitality, agricultural, and real estate sectors benefit from increased British visitors.
Local businesses from both regions see improved connections for travel and collaboration.

What We Are Asking

We respectfully request that Ryanair launch a direct seasonal or year-round service between Manchester (MAN) and Perugia (PEG).

Even a 2–3 flights per week seasonal schedule (April–October) would meet significant demand and allow Ryanair to test the market with minimal risk.

Our Commitment

We, the undersigned, pledge our support for this route, are ready to book it, and will promote it within our communities.

This connection would be of real value to residents, tourists, property owners, and businesses across both the UK and Italy.

✈️ Please support this petition and help show Ryanair that a Manchester–Perugia route is wanted, needed, and would be well-used.
