My name is Nolundi, and last month I became a victim of Gender-Based Violence. My husband, who accused me of “bringing another man's jacket to his house”, brutally burned me with boiling water and then proceed to beat me to a pulp. I have since discovered that years ago he attempted to burn the mother of his child with boiling water too, she was lucky enough to run to safety, I was not so lucky. Thanks to the women in my community I was able to open a case from my hospital bed and he was jailed while I was in recovery.

His bail hearing is coming up on 23 June 2022 and he intends on applying for bail. His family is backing him with their money and social status. I fear for my life, and if he is granted bail he may find me and finish me off. I need you to sign this petition to tell the NPA and the Atlantis Magistrate Court to deny him bail. If enough of us add our names to this petition we can demonstrate to them that he is a danger to me and society at large and we do not want him on our streets. Help me keep this monster in jail!
