Dear fellow students,

As a College LaSalle student, we are all aware that most of our students are international students (from 40-55% of the students). We have a tough time getting information regarding their government and immigration papers (or even fundamental problems like renewing their CAQ, visa, study permit, work permit, post-graduation work permit). This petition is made to show College Lasalle that an immigration advisor is needed on-campus so that international students like us can have their immigration concerns supported right away. Clueless about the next step in your immigration or renewing process is very stressful, so let’s get the help that we need.

The external source that the college offers is L’Hirondelle that is mainly in French.

The website doesn’t allow you to read or navigate through to other pages when you change the language into English. The website offers a number to dial if we need more help but once again its in french so as international students, who come from different countries with very minimal French knowledge it is confusing and  we struggle to get the information that we need.

This will all be avoided if we hired an immigration advisor who would be at College LaSalle with the most up-to-date knowledge on the process of immigration here. He or she would also understand what most students are having difficulties with and sit them and help students out. L’Hirondelle that the school is offering will only cause more confusion.
