I will NOT shop at a CVS in the Boerne Historic District

Despite our recent and ongoing growth, Boerne remains a small town with a small town feel.  Nowhere is this more obvious than in our historic downtown district. Populated with local mom and pop boutiques, restaurants, brewpubs, jewelry stores, and antique stores the historic district is a source of pride for our town and our most defining characteristic.  It is where we hold town festivals, parades, meet our friends for lunch and show off the unique small town character to our relatives when they visit.

We understand that growth is both desirable and inevitable.  But there are hundreds of surrounding acres where a CVS pharmacy would be better located than right in the middle of our historic district.  On the south end of town, just blocks away, commercial franchise and big-box development is well underway. This would be a much more suitable place for a CVS. We are not opposed to CVS at all - but we are vehemently opposed to the proposed location in the historic district.

A CVS on Main Street would fundamentally and negatively change the character of this town that we have literally worked to preserve and maintain for over 150 years and its presence is in direct contrast to current guidelines and mission of organizations like the Hill Country Mile.

Please UNDERSTAND OUR resolute solidarity related to this matter…..

  • If CVS is built in the historic district, we will never shop there.
  • Additionally, we will make significant efforts to ensure our friends and their friends don’t shop at that location either.
  • We will inform our non-Boerne friends and family that CVS is NOT a good corporate neighbor who considers the livability of the neighborhood surrounding their stores.
