Remove the age limit for emissions exemption in Maryland

Remove the age limit for emissions exemption in Maryland
The Issue
In the State of Maryland, the only way to be exempt from emissions testing is if you are disabled and only drive your vehicle 5,000 miles annually or to be a senior citizen that is 70 years of age and drive less than 5000 miles annually. There are many citizens in this state that have multiple vehicles and do not drive one of these vehicles more than 5000 miles a year but are still required to preform a test. The age restriction discriminates against a huge demographic of our states citizens who have multiple vehicles and drive less than 5000 miles a year. There is no reason why we should be required to test vehicles that are rarely being driven. Lets work towards removing the age restriction as long as a vehicle can be proven to be driven less than 5000 miles a year.
