Dragstrips and racetracks make up a large portion of the local economy in which they are located. At any event at a dragstrip/racetrack, people are often spread out and it is an outdoors event. We as participants and spectators do not understand why are beloved tracks are not allowed to open during this time meanwhile crowded boardwalks will be opening this Memorial Day Weekend. It is unfair to both the tracks and the people who come to the tracks and spend their hard earned money towards the sport they love and ultimately into the state/local economy. These tracks should be allowed to open immediately, as distancing and mask rules in full effect. If these tracks are open immediately, it will also add to local economies who are in need of an economic boost at this difficult time. Racetracks are also a safe place for people to partake in the sport they love in a safe and regulated manner and ultimately keeping racing off streets which is beneficial for all parties involved.
