It is time to put crank beds to rest. Caregivers who work hard and tirelessly should not have to crank beds up or down to ensure the best care of a patient. I believe fully electric beds should be supplied and covered under insurance like Medicare to those who need a hospital bed. This will reduce fatigue to caregivers and make for a better caregiving experience. The ease of bringing a bed to the floor via electric remote vs crank is smoother. The ease of bringing a bed up so caregivers don’t have a need to bend low and hurt their back taking care of someone is something that nurses and nursing assistants shouldn’t have to worry about. It is time that the crank bed is retired and fully electric beds are provided to those in need so our people in need of care can be taken care of with ease and in the most appropriate way.
