Today August 6th, 2021 UISD posted a flyer telling parents and students that the Casual Dress Code was going to be implied.Many agreed, however later on UISD said that the flyer was only a DRAFT of what they wanted to do.They will be meeting on August 10th with The United ISD Board of Trustees, to discuss this issue.Many students and parents wish for this to be allowed for a bunch of good reasons: 

1)We all know that COVID-19 has impacted our lives, uniforms should be the LEAST thing for the parents to worry about.It should not be mandatory 

2)Kids and Teens would be much more comfortable wearing casual clothes to school.Approving the Casual Dress Code could even motivate students to look forward to going in person to school.

3)Tax free weekend is coming up, many of us think that UISD had all summer to plan this and now we must wait until August 10th which is not acceptable.As I’ve stated before, uniforms should be the the least of priorities to families.

4)Relaxed attire would be more adequate for students who cannot find their sizes, having the Casual Dress Code is a lot more flexible.

This school year is NOT like 2018-2019,things have changed and many families are struggling economically, we are already struggling with the virus!Parents should have the choice whether or not to send their kids with uniforms.Uniforms should not be mandatory, especially now.Please help us and pass the word around, share with friends and family we must change this issue.

Hoy, 6 de agosto de 2021, UISD publicó un volante que les decía a los padres y estudiantes que el Código de vestimenta informal iba a estar implícito. Muchos estuvieron de acuerdo, sin embargo, más tarde, UISD dijo que el volante era solo un BORRADOR de lo que querían hacer.El 10 de agosto ,The United ISD Board of Trustees, decidirían si se pasa la regla de ropa informal. Muchos estudiantes y padres desean que esto se permita por varias buenas razones:

1) Todos sabemos que COVID-19 ha impactado nuestras vidas, los uniformes deben ser lo MENOS de lo que los padres se preocupen, no deben ser obligatorios.

2) Los niños y adolescentes se sentirían mucho más cómodos vistiendo ropa informal en la escuela. Aprobar el Código de vestimenta informal podría incluso motivar a los estudiantes a esperar ir en persona a la escuela.

3) Se acerca el fin de semana libre de impuestos(tax free weekend), muchos de nosotros pensamos que UISD tuvo todo el verano para planificar esto y ahora debemos esperar hasta el 10 de agosto, lo cual no es justo.Como he dicho antes, los uniformes deberían ser la menor de las prioridades para familias.

4) La vestimenta relajada sería más adecuada para los estudiantes que no pueden encontrar sus tallas, tener el código de vestimenta informal es mucho más flexible.

Este año escolar NO es como el 2018-2019, las cosas han cambiado y muchas familias están luchando económicamente, ¡ya estamos luchando con el virus! Los padres deben tener la opción de enviar o no a sus hijos con uniforme.Los uniformes no deben ser obligatorios, especialmente Ayúdanos a compartir esta petición en todas partes, pasa la voz.
