A petition to the county council has been raised to ensure that there is a bus service between Preston, Clitheroe and Skipton to replace the deregistered 280 bus service from Preston Buses.

The 280 bus service provides access to schools and colleges across the A59 route, providing much needed access for teenagers from the rural areas. Opportunity will be restricted and travel will become impractical for many. For those who have access to cars, the lack of a connected transport system will mean more road use and an increase in congestion, pollution and a reduction in air quality.
