College cannot mandatorily put decision on students

"We have had 800+ viewers but only 117 has signed, we appreciate who signed and shared and also some would have disagreed with us, we respect that but we need to fight for cause as our other pleas had been rejected."

Lambton college is a college situated in three locations in Ontario. Lambton college has recently made some changes due to covid 19 measures in which a new change is very drastic and it's kind of unacceptable. It's related to student accommodation services for Quarantine in which college has made mandatory that it shall charge approx 1800 CAD or more for stay in selective hotels which they had chosen when students arrive in Canada. I think ~1800 CAD or more for 14 days is very expensive for students.
What I and many students object is not only the affordability but also the major issue of consumer rights. The choices should be voluntary and not mandatory.
The college is forcing students like we could only provide travel support letter if you pay us 1800$ for our accomodation or else students will not get support letter which is necessary to show immigration officers on airport when students arrive in Canada. So a student cannot choose their own choice of accomodation for Quarantine plan. No else college is forcing it.
Many students have families and friends in Canada who are ready to help them for Quarantine having a spare room and bathroom in their homes and also many dedicated service providers which students could choose or students can choose hotels by their own . So students should not be enforced to choose college's plans. There shouldn't be any conditions.
I hope college to help students to make their own decision rather than imposing.
