Air Ornge ambulances are currently not landing at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. This is due to minor concerns from residents who live near the helipad and have items such as BBQ’s flown across their backyard. Air Ornge has also stated that their were concerns and they were a big factor in having the air ambulance terminated until further notice. They have no timelines as to when it will be terminated. 

Air Ornge lands approximately 25 times a year saving people’s lives who are in critical condition and require to be transported to another hospital. There were talks of having people transported to Oshawa airport which is approximately 25 minutes to get there by ground. This delay could potentially decide someone’s fate in life.

Having this essential service terminated people’s lives are at stake. It is a matter of live or death in some cases. Imagine yourself or another member of your family needing this essential service to find out it is not available.
