📢 Petition to Allow Latin Dance Gatherings at Lakefront Promenade – Mississauga, ON

We, the undersigned, respectfully ask the City of Mississauga to support the continuation of informal Latin dance gatherings at Lakefront Promenade during select summer evenings, typically on Fridays from May through October.

For the past several years, our community has come together to enjoy salsa and bachata music and dancing in a safe, welcoming, and joyful outdoor setting. These gatherings are open to all and have become a source of connection, physical activity, and cultural expression for residents of all ages and backgrounds.

🌟 Why This Matters:
- Promotes health, wellness, and emotional well-being
- Brings people together in a positive, respectful atmosphere
- Enhances public enjoyment of Lakefront Promenade 
- Builds community, new friendships, and celebrates diversity

Until recently, these events had no issues or complaints. Sadly, we were recently asked to stop, despite the positive response from countless parkgoers and participants over the years.

We are eager to work with the City to find a solution. We are open to permits, guidelines, or beneficial accommodations to ensure these events align with community goals and City policies.

🎶 Dancing brings people joy. Let’s keep that joy alive in Mississauga.
