Say NO To Metro
31 ene 2020

Please take a few minutes to thank Commissioner Paul Savas for standing up to METRO and putting an end to the OGLO bridge.   Commissioner Savas deserves credit for his leadership on Tuesday. You can send him a quick email of gratitude at: psavas@clackamas.us

Tuesday morning, Commissioner Savas got a majority of the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners to approve a next steps option. That next steps option was to instruct staff to take no further action on the proposed OGLO bridge landing points due to the withdrawal of the City of Lake Oswego and the lack of support by the communities at this time.   While Commissioners Schrader and Humberston supported Savas’ motion, Lake Oswego’s very own Commissioner Sonya Fischer did not approve. You might want to express your disappointment with Commissioner Fischer by emailing her at sonyafischer@clackamas.us

At Tuesday evening’s OGLO Policy Committee Meeting, Commissioner Savas not only pointed out the flaws in the OGLO feasibility report, he managed to get the other members of the committee (Lewis and Gamba) to adopt his next steps option.  In addition, both Commissioner Savas and Metro Councilor Christine Lewis voted to request that the OGLO Bridge be removed from consideration from the Metro 2020 Transportation Package. Milwaukie Mayor and bicycle enthusiast, Mark Gamba, voted no and assured the committee that as a member of Metro’s (handpicked) Transportation 2020 Task Force, he will work on keeping the OGLO bridge a part of Metro’s Transportation Package.
