We plan to petition the Lafayette City Council to help either raise money for funding to help clean the creek or to ask them to hire workers to clean the creek and prevent further pollution. In addition we plan to ask neighboring businesses to use containers or products that are less disruptive to the environment such as using biodegradeable paper instead of plastic. This is important because the ecosystem is very fragile. The wildlife of the area is negatively affected by litter in the creek. Also, the water in the creek eventually leads to the bay, which would then have the same contaminants as the creek as the litter flows downstream.
