Though long overdue, LaDuca Shoes (a professional dance shoe company) finally released their shoes in four new shades to have options to fit a more diverse range of skin tones. This change comes after years of BIPOC dancers having to pay more for custom shoes. We want LaDuca to offer these dancers some sort of credit or discount on their new shoes. This will help offset, but still never make up for, the outrageous amounts of money that BIPOC dancers had to spend to get shoes that matched the color of their skin. We also want to add that we do not applaud LaDuca for this change. This should have happened years ago and basic equality does not warrant applause.
