Many people in Australia are lactose intolerant or have lactose sensitivities. Many people in Australia also like to drink iced coffee. 

When one of my best friends came back from uni, she had the unfortunate discovery that she was sensitive to lactose; a sugar found in dairy products. However this was not the most pressing issue. She could no longer partake in her pre-class ritual, fuelling up on a cool Dare Iced Coffee. 

"I can still eat cheese and everything, it's just that if I drink a glass of milk, my day pretty much ends there."

Dare Iced Coffee is a very popular brand of iced coffee and recently became Australia's number one seller of dairy beverages. 

However, many of the people who are lactose intolerant cannot take full enjoyment out of their iced coffees because of one reason or another. Feeling sick or being in pain due to consuming dairy; having to take medication to avoid pain or discomfort; or simply denying themselves of the drink all together are some of the many reasons. 

Even though we have taken a humorous approach to our campaign, we would like to raise awareness for people who are unable to drink readily-available flavoured milk. In addition to this, we hope that actions will be taken to improve standards in restaurants, cafes and supermarkets for people who have food sensitivities of all kinds.

By creating a line of lactose-free iced coffee, many Aussies will rejoice at finally being able to consume life-giving, caffeinated, tasty, cold goodness without pain or discomfort at all.
