Stitching Together The Class of 2021 - Mental Heath Awareness Month Help Charisma Graduate

The Issue

This month of Mental Health Awareness we would like to have Charisma Jade Garza be a part of the 2021 LPHS graduation. In doing so this would bring comfort to the class of 2021 and awareness of the importance of mental health in a school environment and every day life. We would like Charisma’s name to be called during the graduation ceremony and a moment of silence in her honor. We would also like to set a chair aside with her picture and a stitch stuffed animal that many of her friends will be providing. This would be honoring the life Charisma lived as an active member of LPHS. In doing so we could be focusing on life and not death as well as the importance of the lives still here with us graduating.Charisma was a light and we would like to use her light to shine bright on the topic of mental health. Mental Health should not be taken lightly and all resources should be exhausted to help an individual struggling with mental health. The school has active counselors and resources available to provide the help a student may need. We would like to highlight these resources and inform students of the support they have.
