They are roughly 500 italian permanent residents in Jamaica plus their local families (Jamaican wives or husbands and kids) for a total of about 1500 persons that don't have nor Consul neither Ambassador which could represent them for passports renewal, visas, family reunifications, signatures authenticate, travels abroad ect.

The last representative, Honorary Consul Maria Carla Gullotta, has been dismissed on March 2020,; therefore since then La Farnesina in Rome, Italy didn't provide yet those people with a legal replacement.

The Italian nationals have been forced since then to fly to Miami at their expenses if needed any of the pratictes mentioned above.

La Farnesina didn't have replied yet to the various attempts done by the Italian citizens to contact its officials by letter or email whatsoever.

This lack of diplomat assistance is seriously affecting the life of the Italians living in Jamaica and their families

Most of them, due to the Covid emergency and economical issues related to it, don't have the financial resources to pay a trip and stay in Miami in order to resolve their needs.

We require an immediate intervention of La Farnesina office in order to replace as soon as possible the honorary Consul Gullotta with a new official which would be present on Jamaican territory!
