Change the name of B.F. Terry High School

The Issue

In 1980 B.F. Terry was built and named after a former slaver owner and colonel in the confederate army.

Benjamin Franklin Terry was a vicious slave owner who murdered slaves and a traitor to the country by way of fighting in the Confederate army to keep slavery establish.

He famously created a Calvary unit named the Terry Rangers to hunt slaves and fight in the Confederate army.

Today the school has been named in his honor and the mascot is a Texas Ranger. Black students are forced to rally behind a mascot that murder people of color and fought for the continued enslavement.
