On May 27th, 2020, NJIT Professor Gerard "Jerry" Ryan lost his battle with cancer.

He was a favorite professor of NJIT's computer science students. He was not only a fantastic lecturer, but an educator with a mission to help students succeed. 

Ryan was working diligently on his doctoral dissertation at NJIT while working as a senior lecturer and serving his local community prior to his passing. 

To honor his contributions to the NJIT commuity, we the former students of Prof Ryan ask that NJIT posthumouslty bestow Ryan with an honorary degree to acknowldge his efforts as an educator, a leader and a life-long learner.
