BITSAT should scrap 75% criteria for admission or all components rule in improvement exams
The Issue
My son ,his friends and many other aspirants like them today are in a precarious situation. They need your support so that the concerned people understand and be more empathetic towards these students. Many of these students dropped one year after class 12th and slogged hard to get admission in good colleges . Don't let their dreams crash because of some rules.Help these students by signing this petition.
The corona pandemic has been devastating for one and all in some or the other way but it has taught us some lessons. Deadlines need to die.The mad rush needs to calm down. The cut throat competition needs to slow down. While it has been a horrendous time for everyone people around the world kindled their inner warmth, shared their feelings, realised others needs.
Students studying for competitive exams faced uncertainty combined with their stress. In such times many welcome steps by the government and other organisation worked as a balm. One such major step was of the NTA scraping the minimum marks criteria of 75% in class 12th for advanced exams.
While the government took the lead in understanding the trauma of the students other institutions too should take note. The upcoming BITSAT exam that grants admission in its three prestigious campuses namely at Pilani ,Goa and Hyderabad should also scrap the minimum marks criteria of 75% for admission in BITS campuses . What is even more problematic is that it also requires a child to have appeared in all subjects in the class 12 improvement exam . This is completely illogical, if it's an improvement exam it has to be in the subjects which need to be improved .Nobody thinks of appearing for all subjects. Many students are unaware of this rule of appearing in all subjects in the improvement exam.Every year it acts as a blow that crushes the dream of thousands of aspirants who want to join these esteemed institutions .
Once again I urge you to sign this petition because tomorrow it could be your own child.
