Due to the concern of the COVID-19, KSHSAA has decided to cancel the state basketball games after the quarterfinal rounds. While we understand the general concerns, it is unfair for these hardworking student-athletes who have worked tirelessly to have this happen to them now. There are only two days left of competition for the entire season, and it could honestly be cut down to one if it had to be.  It affects players on several different levels- mentally, emotionally and athletically, particularly for seniors who have worked their whole lives for this moment, only to have their dreams crushed by a rash decision. Therefore, we STRONGLY feel like it should be postponed and not canceled. Take other precautionary measures to ensure that this can still happen. Schools have not even closed as of yet,  SO LET THE KIDS PLAY! #LetUsPlayKSHSAA #BasketballWithNoFansIfNecessary #WatchOnline #KSBasketball #LetTheStudentAthletesDecide #DoItForTheKids
