In 2016, Krystal committed to switch to using cage-free eggs for 100% of their supply-chain by 2026. While I no longer eat meat or animal products, I was extremely encouraged to learn this. Many childhood memories of mine feature Krystal as an effective grab-and-go option on long roadtrips to summer vacation destinations, and knowing that they were taking meaningful steps to treat the animals involved in the production of their goods better allowed me to remain positive about those memories.

Confining hens in tight cages for the entirety of their lives is brutal and wrong, and having big companies like Krystal change their policies to improve the welfare of the animals in their supply chain goes a long way to creating a positive change for these hens. Unfortunately, Krystal has not done anything beyond announcing this commitment.

Help us call on Krystal to reinstate its pledge for a 100% cage-free business by 2026. Signing our petition will make Krystal aware that it will be featured in The Humane League’s 2024 Eggsposé for its lack of transparency with customers.
