Hello. My 17 year old sister, Faith Faulk,  a student enrolled in Buffalo's Tapestry Charter School, was jumped by a total of 6 girls that she has had an ongoing issue with since entering high school in 2016. My mother has made several attempts at remediation and conferences held at the school including administration, fellow students and their parents over the past several years with no success at putting an end to their bullying behavior.

This past Thursday December 5th, 2019, Faith and her friend were jumped during lunch. Faith did NOT start the altercation. The school showed us (her family) the video of the fight which initially only involved two other females. Faith attempted to stop another female from jumping into the fight when 5 other females ran after her and jumped her in the common hallway. The principal allowed us (her family) to examine the video where we got to see our loved one attacked with our own eyes. Faith has NEVER been in a school fight before. She ran track, tried out for volleyball, supports school functions, and has plans to attend college right after graduation.

The reason for this petition is because Faith has been punished for being a victim. She is currently suspended for 5 days, has to attend a hearing, cannot attend homecoming, senior prom or walk across the stage for her graduation. She continued to tell teachers, guidance counselors, and her principal about the problems she was having. They did NOTHING to protect her!!! This could have been avoided if the school system didn't fail her. They failed to protect her from females who have made claims that "they just didn't like her"! No person deserves to be bullied nor attacked in the manor that those 6 individuals imposed upon her and her friend.

This is a very harsh and unjust punishment for a girl who has never been in trouble in school before, nor was she the initiator of the confrontation. Yes this is my baby sister, so I am going to protect and defend her, but I would also advocate for any child, especially when they are being singled out, harshly punished, and made out to be the problem when they aren’t!! She should not have all the things she worked so hard for wrongfully taken from her.

We are humbly asking you to please sign this petition as a protest to this unjustified and unusual course of action taken by school administration. They have proven to be incapable of protecting their students in the event of violent circumstances like the aforementioned bullying by my sister, Faith Faulk. Your signatures will help our family in getting justice for Faith and rectifying the issues we've been facing while she's been attending Tapestry Charter High School. Its time to make a change, finally for my sister, for our youth, and the generations to come! Thank you so much for your time!
