Deny Parole for Jerry Neal Carpenter, #00119565, Murderer of Myrtle Chapman, 1985

Deny Parole for Jerry Neal Carpenter, #00119565, Murderer of Myrtle Chapman, 1985
The Issue
On March 25, 1985, Jerry Neal Carpenter, ID #00119565 robbed and brutally and violently murdered Myrtle Chapman at her place of business, Myrt's Package Store, in Knox County, Tennessee. Jerry Carpenter attacked our mother striking her numerous times to her head with a roofing hammer. Pathologist autopsy reports proved that she received approximately ten deep lacerations to her head and face, her skull was crushed. The pathologist opined that a hatchet could have been used to inflict the wounds.
Jerry Neal Carpenter received a "Life Sentence" for First Degree Felony Murder. Due to the laws in 1985, he is now eligible to apply for parole.
Personal Letters may also be written to the Parole Board and emailed to Tina.Fox@TN.gov, or may also be mailed to TN Board of Parole, Parkway Towers, Suite 1300, 404 James Roberston Pkwy., Nashville, TN 37243.
Myrtle Chapman is my mother. I have a brother and he has a son. We have lived almost 32 years without our mother, and my brother's son never got to meet his grandmother. He is now 23 years old. The murder of Myrtle Chapman has impacted so many lives and our community. Our family is serving a life sentence every day of our lives, and now we have to endure going through this parole hearing over and over again. It is so cruel and inhumane.
Our family is asking for help to keep Jerry Carpenter in prison where he is serving a "Life Sentence". This sentence was given to him by a jury of his peers and by the courts of Tennessee. It is the only justice we have for the life of Myrtle Chapman. She at least deserves that he serves his sentence!
Please sign this petition to help us maintain justice for our mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. I am also asking that we fight to deny Jerry Carpenter, #00119565 this parole, but to also request that he not be eligible again for 6 years.
Thank you.
