Here’s the Evidence, 24-hr cat curfews fail and cost Victorians:
https://petwelfare.org.au/2022/08/31/australian-pet-welfare-foundation-position-statement-on-cat-containment/

Below the link are scientific research papers showing that 24-hrs has failed in Yarra Ranges and Casey: https://petwelfare.org.au/2022/09/02/key-issues-to-consider-related-to-mandated-24-7-cat-containment/

Evidence from the APWF and Banyule shows 24-hr cat curfew costs residents six times more than community cat programs, farms kittens to kill, does not help wildlife, failing, while also dividing and unequalising neighbours.

Waste  Knox Council is now running a survey on waste, they had no consultation before voting to change waste bin collection from weekly to fortnightly.  This impacts those with cat litter (and dog poo) that Knox News October announced cannot go in the Food Organic bins (delivered mid 2023).  Can we also expect more unpicked-up droppings on streets from the Knox Order unleashed dogs?  Medical waste and nappies homes could be hit with higher waste fees.  The final survey question is a text-box where you can write your views - open until Oct 16th 2022:  https://haveyoursay.knox.vic.gov.au/future-waste/your-feedback

September meeting: Two Knox Councillors, Seymour and Grasso, are running for Victorian Government seats.

In August it was questioned why Deputy Mayor Seymour continues to take double councillor salary while campaigning, including on her councillor Facebook, for Knox’s Rowville, Victoria seat.

Questioned why councillors vote on the issue of taking council salaries while campaigning, in September and October, for the November 26th Victoria State Election.  Cr Nicole Seymour declares: 'Any conflicts of interests are determined by an individual councillor, not by others.  It's our right to choose what's a conflict of interest.'

Seymour pushed for 24-hr cat curfew since 2019, denied community consultation, and did not declare her personal interest as a residential landlord.

Is this ‘good governance’ or being ‘fiscally responsible’?  September 26th 2022:   https://webcast.knox.vic.gov.au/archive/video22-0926.php  press 8.10 below for exact place

Knox's Rowville seat is currently held by Kim Wells, whose office has continually helped Knox AdvoCats try to gain consultation on 24-hrs.

September meeting shows the motion made by a councillor who has stated on record she does not vote for residents but for the future, and that councillors are not paid enough.  So with two councillors campaigning for State seats, expect her to nominate for the Deputy Mayor, or Mayor’s, 2023 salary.  Someone who often cites ‘democracy’ - empty words with her continual denial of consultation for residents.

What can we do?   Share the evidence.  Make War on Waste.  Love our fur families.  Thank you AdvoCats!
