Petition updatePlease Revoke 24-hour Cat Curfews - Knox AdvoCatsKnox Mayoral Election Monday November 14th, 2022

If anyone wants to watch, on Monday 14 November at 7pm, Knox Councillors, who state they are ‘proud’ ‘community leaders’ for ‘democracy’ who ‘don’t do it for the money’, choose new Mayor and Deputy Mayor.   Mayor’s base allowance is $122,630, Deputy $61,315, Councillors $ 37,010 18 Dec 22-17 Dec 23. https://webcast.knox.vic.gov.au/

The six who brought in 24-hr curfew, costing all Knox residents more, to kill more kittens and wildlife are:

Cr Jude Dwight says she does not vote for residents, is not paid enough, and hid Knox residents’ questions on her Councillor Facebook.  Cr Dwight denied community consultation to build high-density over a ‘wildlife corridor’*.  Also denying residents consultation on Climate Change, and on Waste.

Cr Yvonne Allred, a cat owner, says her ‘research’ is that no ‘other ‘domesticated animal is permitted to roam’ ‘from a tarantula to a horse’.  ‘Don’t let ‘em roam, if you love ‘em’ .**  Continually denying due consultation to residents on Planning, Cats, Climate Change and Waste.  Allred says her ‘legacy’, is 1 Mount View Rd, UFG, decimating habitat, native birds, character homes and small businesses*.

Cr Marcia Timmers-Leitch did not respond to the many letters asking for consultation.  Did not declare her personal interest as a residential landlord.  Owns chickens, no dog or cat.  Continually denies residents consultation.

Cr Meagan Baker hid residents’ questions on her Councillor Facebook asking for consultation.  Also fields some letters to her instead to be answered by Cr Seymour and others.

Cr Susan Laukens, current Mayor, did not ask for evidence, statistics, or any evidence-based approach.  Continually denies residents consultation.

Cr Nicole Seymour pushed for 24-hr cat curfew since 2019, continually denying community consultation on 24-hrs.  Did not declare her personal interest as a next-door residential landlord, owning dogs.  Is running in the Victorian State Election.  Crs Seymour and Grasso take November leave for their campaigns.

Judge by actions, not by words - would any honest person deny community consultation on 24-hr cat curfew?

Other Councils’ DAMs inform that Knox Domestic Animal Management knew that 24-hr curfews fail, while killing more cats and costing the whole community more in money, mental health and wellbeing. Yet Paul Anastasi wrote Knox’s ‘recommended 24-hr' Cat Curfew Order Reports without evidence.

October 24th Meeting: 5 William Street, Ferntree Gully - Council voted to give permit for microbiological testing and associated development, before question time for residents.  Resident questions revealed that the application was incomplete, and allegedly made only after the construction.  https://webcast.knox.vic.gov.au/archive/video22-1024.php  press 7 below for Questions (decision was made at 6.4)

August 2021 - press 14.2 below, https://webcast.knox.vic.gov.au/archive/video21-0823.php#placeholder   decided Knox cat-owners are not worth $10 each for consultation on 24-hrs.

**February 28th 2022 press 6.5 below http://webcast.knox.vic.gov.au/archive/video22-0228.php  Crs Seymour and Allred add more inaccurate assertions to implement 24-hrs without community consultation.

Adding greater debt to all residents, by a Council already borrowing $84million.
