In my household, there are two adults, a baby and two pets. Each and every week I sort out our waste for recycling, and the general waste always goes in our (small) maroon wheelie bin. By the time collection comes around, our maroon bin is always full to the brim.

I have read that your plans are to change the weekly collections to fortnightly from October 2013. If this happens, I will have no choice but to start using bin bags as well as the wheelie bins.

I can imagine that the gathering of bin bags around the area will also increase the areas' rat population, so apart from the bin bags being an issue to health and the environment, rats carry diseases.  I can also foresee a lot more fly-tipping throughout the region.

I am also concerned that I have not heard anything about a reduction in the council tax. I am not entitled to any assistance in paying my council tax bill, therefore, I have to pay every penny, as to many other people in the Knowsley area. If there will be no reduction, where will the (then) extra money go when it should be being spent on weekly bin collections?

There are thousands of people who live in the Knowsley area, and many are in the same scenario as I, so please.  Please reconsider your plans, and keep us at a weekly wheelie bin collection.
