Every year on September 1st to bring in the holidays, one highlight for many is that of the food. Food that reminds us of simpler times, of laughter, of joy. Kneaders Bakery & Cafe specifically had a way to usher that joy in with their signature pumpkin pie, the pride and joy of Nana herself. However, upon indulging in the famous pastry this year, it is obvious that it does this no more.

No more.

Family and friends agree; the pumpkin pie has died. It no longer resembles the love and care that Nana had put into it for so many years. Now it's as generic as any Walmart made wad. The flavors are off. The texture is like glue. An utter disappointment after years of converting the masses to only eating this showstopper. 

Thinking that our assessment was in error, we emailed Kneaders Bakery & Cafe's corporate office. We then received notification that Nana's beloved recipe that has stood the test of time for over sixty years, has been changed. There was no explanation as to why, simply that it had been. 

We then visited multiple local locations and were told that wasn't true. That Nana's recipe was continuing. Instead, their response was that they no longer made the pies in house. They now employed the services of a third party to make the pies offsite and then ship them in daily.

This is an outrage that cannot stand!
