Kloud K9 LLC is a small family/double veteran owned and operated business that provides dog boarding, training and daycare services to southern Maryland and beyond. This business serves as a sole income source for me, my husband and our 2 small children. It is more than our passion, it is our livelihood. 

In January 2024, I got a call from the county regarding a report being filed against us - saying we were missing a permit. That permit is the one “to operate a business out of my home”. Well for animal boarding it opens a new level of stuff to be checked off the list. We are technically 3/4 an acre shy of the land we need to be in compliance with the zoning and we need our land survey. We have asked the county to allow us to operate while trying to obtain the permits. They agreed but after a ton of discussing we decided maybe it was best to relocate because the process was going to cost more than we could afford. We tried to sell the house, it didn’t happen in time so we lost a contract on a house we had. We have went back to the county to ask if we could pick up where we left off since the house didn’t sell.  So that is where we are. We have since opened the door to another option we are working on but it’s not set in stone if we can do it or not just yet. Updates to come. I think this petition just needs to serve as a visual for the county personnel to see how much our little business means to their community and how little one or two people’s complaints against us means. That is my goal for this petition. 

This petition is in regards to Kloud K9s operating status. We the undersign petition to have this business continue to operate as it is a benefit to the undersigned and the community as a whole.
It provides a necessary service, employment to citizens and is a contributor to the tax base that benefits everyone.
