In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace be upon you all. This petition has been started to help Muslim women have a place at the Islamic University of Madinah. There is no doubt it is one of the most prestigious schools to seek knowledge of the Quran and the way of the prophet peace be upon him. For this reason, it is saddening that the school does not have facilities for women to seek knowledge.

Allah says in the Quran, “...Are those who know equal to those who do not know?” The prophet peace be upon him said, “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.” Who will teach the coming generations if we cripple the Muslim woman? 

It is incumbent upon the Kingdom of Saudi to expand the school so women can attend. There are schools that accept women but it does not take away from the fact that one of the biggest institutes of Islamic knowledge today has been monopolized by the men. 

I urge you all to sign this petition to bring attention to this issue. It is time we stop neglecting Muslim women. Allah says, “The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and establish prayer and give zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger. Those - Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.” Let us be allies and build a strong, knowledgeable, and pious nation.
