Emilie Morgan started this petition to King George Board of Elections

As constituents of King George County, Virginia and concerned parents of this county in accordance with the Code of Virginia 24.2-233, we petition for the removal of At-Large King George County school board member Gayle Hock.
We feel that Ms. Hock has failed to represent most of the constituents that she represents and has been in opposition to the majority of parents that desire their children to return to in-person instruction. Ms. Hock has neglected to act on behalf of the families and children that she has been sworn to serve, and failed to ensure that children of this district receive the quality education to attain the learning and development of the whole child. Ms. Hock has failed to act in the best interests of the child, and we will no longer stand for her disregard of our children’s fundamental right to the facilities, teaching, and education materials that provide the best opportunities to maximize the education of our children.
The failure to provide equal opportunities for adequate instruction and in-person learning for children that do not thrive in the virtual learning environment will have lasting negative consequences academically, socially, and emotionally; eliminating the skills critical to succeeding in life.
Our community continues to be challenged by the lack of reliable internet to all students and the lack of digital literacy of some households. On-line learning in this county has been largely ineffective as evidenced by inconsistent internet access and lack of targeted training of our educators that supports full-time online instruction. Because these needed requirements for effective learning are largely absent, remote education continues to impede teaching and learning.
In closing, Ms. Hock has not committed to providing an equal opportunity for every student to achieve maximum intellectual, social, and emotional growth. We have no confidence or trust in Ms. Hock’s ability to represent the children and families of our district and she can no longer adequately perform her duties as a school board member.
Since Ms. Hock was elected as an At-Large member and received 6,973 votes, the number of constituents that must sign this petition is 697. Please assure that only constituents of King George County sign this petition.
