Although we didn't win a ban prior to this 4th of July, but we did get the attention of the media, Executive Dow Constantine, the King County Fire Marshal, and the King County Council. Executive Constantine has directed the King County Council to investigate options for a fireworks ban: goo.gl/DvwzP5 The King County Council will be holding a committee meeting this coming week: goo.gl/DcmK8c We have a new petition directed at a permanent fireworks ban for unincorporated King County: https://www.change.org/p/king-county-executive-dow-constantine-king-county-council-as-king-county-residents-give-us-the-choice-and-method-to-ban-sale-and-use-of-consumer-fireworks-within-our-own-fire-districts Please sign and share widely if you'd like to let the King County Council know that now is the time to declare a permanent ban on the sale and use of consumer fireworks due to safety issues.
