Although we didn't win a ban prior to this 4th of July, but we did get the attention of the media, Executive Dow Constantine, the King County Fire Marshal, and the King County Council.
Executive Constantine has directed the King County Council to investigate options for a fireworks ban:

The King County Council will be holding a committee meeting this coming week:

We have a new petition directed at a permanent fireworks ban for unincorporated King County:

Please sign and share widely if you'd like to let the King County Council know that now is the time to declare a permanent ban on the sale and use of consumer fireworks due to safety issues. Our fire officials are recommending that citizens attend professional shows instead.
