"The governor’s office consulted with legal counsel the Attorney General’s office who looked at a variety of options but determined the governor likely does not have the legal authority to initiate a statewide fireworks ban under the current circumstances. The governor shares your concerns about the risks of fireworks during such an exceptionally dry drought period. He is asking residents to use extra caution this year due to the extremely dry conditions, and to consider limiting or foregoing use of fireworks."
