As a resident of Hawaii, I am deeply concerned about the recent introduction of Administrative Bills HB2476 and HB2477. These bills were introduced without adequate public awareness or sufficient time for community members to gather testimonies. This lack of transparency is alarming, especially considering the potential impact these bills could have on generations of Hawai'i State residents who rely on our ocean and tourism industry to provide for their families.

These bills propose significant changes that could drastically affect our small community, yet there is not enough evidence to support such powerful proposals. The haste with which these bills are being pushed through suggests a disregard for the voices and livelihoods of those most affected.

Any legislative changes that could potentially disrupt the tourism industry, safety of our visitors, and protection of our ocean should be thoroughly examined and discussed with all stakeholders involved.

We urge lawmakers to halt the passage of Administrative Bills HB2476 & HB2477 until there has been ample opportunity for public input and thorough examination of potential impacts.

We call upon our fellow citizens to join us in this petition, ensuring that decisions affecting our lives are made transparently and considerately. Please sign this petition today.
