STOP THE HIGHLAND PARK TINY HOMES HOMELESS PROJECT

STOP THE HIGHLAND PARK TINY HOMES HOMELESS PROJECT
The Issue
The City of Los Angeles is building a tiny homes homeless project in our neighborhood of Highland Park ("Homeless Project"). It is being built in the Arroyo Seco Park along the 110 Freeway. If you are opposed to the Homeless Project, please take a moment to make yourself heard by signing this petition.
While we all want our unhoused neighbors to find homes, the main reason why so many around the neighborhood are opposed to the Homeless Project is because of the location – it’s on a family park that is used every day by the community!! WE DO NOT WANT IT TAKEN OVER BY THE HOMELESS PROJECT!
Here are some additional concerns expressed by your fellow Highland Park neighbors who are opposed to the Homeless Project:
• Increase crime and drug use. Crime and drug use is already an issue in the neighborhood, and they tend to follow homelessness.
• Decrease in available parking spaces. Some homeless people own cars and need to park them. Street parking is already scarce in the neighborhood.
• Mental illness. The neighborhood cannot manage an influx of unpredictable people with mental health issues, especially families with young children.
In addition, call or email Kevin De León who is leading the effort to register your opposition to the Homeless Project:
