Justice for Malik Mallett

The Issue

Malik Mallett was a musician for his church, played trumpet for marching band in high school, and an all around amazing soul and person.

On July 30th, 2017 he was stabbed to death by Richard White while trying to break up a fight in front of multiple witnesses. Although there are multiple eye-witnesses stating that Malik was not the attacker, that Richard White was on drugs and that this was a murder not self-defense, the KCSO did not conduct a proper investigation, did not interview any witnesses, did not make any arrests, and did not conduct the toxicology report on both parties that is a routine part of any homicide (they only did a toxicology report on Malik, not his murderer). They did everything in their power to paint this as self-defense, stating that Malik simply being a large man justified his murder,  This miscarriage of justice by the corrupt law enforcement in Ridgecrest has allowed a murderer to walk free.

Although it has been 3 years since Malik was taken from us, the wounds are still fresh and no justice has been served.

1.) We ask that there be a formal and proper investigation conducted on his murder. The witnesses are still waiting and are willing to cooperate to provide any information they have.

2.) We ask that Richard White, a murderer walking free, be arrested and charged for his crimes.

3.) We ask that Malik's family be fairly compensated for the negligence of KCSO and RCPD and their wrongful loss of a loved one.

Malik was a son, a brother and a friend. He was a leader in his community and good to all that knew him. Do what is right, arrest his murderer.
