Boycott Kerala until it stops culling stray dogs!

The Issue

Time and again, studies show that spaying and neutering are the only effective AND humane ways to control dog population. Culling is just a temporary way to temper the problem. Dogs can become aggressive when the population bounces back and then we're back to square one.

The Kerala Government's cowardly and cheap way of trying to address its stray dog population is ineffective and morally wrong. The recent suggestion made by gram panchayat (village council) presidents of a village Edakkattuvayal that stray dogs should be exported to South Korea, China and the northeast of India as part of the dog meat trade, is ludicrous. In view of how hard people are trying to halt this trade, it's utterly regressive.

Kerala banks heavily on tourism - both domestic and foreign - to earn revenue. Until the government puts into action a workable plan to spay and neuter its stray dogs, I BOYCOTT KERALA.
