Kenya Power And Lighting Company (Kplc) Compensate Kenyans For Unscheduled Power Outages!

The Issue

More often than not Kenyans have experienced power outages which have not only inconvenienced them but have also affected businesses  countrywide with losses running into millions of shillings.

Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) should be held accountable for unscheduled/unplanned blackouts that interrupt working schedules of businesses including homesteads that incur losses as a result of loss of power. It is only fair that clients are compensated for losses they incur due to these power outages that happen without notice.

This petition demands:

1. Adoption by the Departmental Committee on Energy at the National Assembly on proposed amendments to the Energy Act, 2019 to allow for compensation to consumers for power outages.
2. An elaborate timeline proposed by the Departmental Committee on Energy at the National Assembly specified in the Energy Act, 2019 which will elaborate the transitional period when the blackout compensation rules will take effect.

Sign this petition to be compensated by Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) for unscheduled/unplanned power outages.
