Keep Stanley Dishon Incarcerated

Keep Stanley Dishon Incarcerated
The Issue
Stanley Dishon is guilty of raping, kidnapping, and murdering his niece, 17-year-old Jessica Dishon in 2002. He is also guilty of 4 other rape charges.
Stanley Dishon had been raping Jessica Dishon since she was young. By the time she was 17 years old, she had begun a relationship with a boy her own age. Stanley became upset and feared the possibility that Jessica would tell her new boyfriend everything he used to do to her. On the morning of September 10, 1999, Stanley approached Jessica while she was getting in her car to go to high school and began an argument. When Jessica refused to end her relationship, Stanley attempted to kidnap her. Jessica broke free from his grasp, ran into her house and into her bedroom. Stanley fought his way to her, knocked her out, wrapped her up in her own bedsheet, and took her to a barn where she was kept barely alive for 3 days. She was tortured and eventually, Stanley Dishon strangled her. He had gotten away with his murder due to a possible suspect by the name of David "Bucky" Brooks failing a polygraph test. However, the case was later reopened and detectives proved that Brooks' IQ was too low for him to be able to understand the questions he was being asked, which ultimately led to his failing the polygraph test. Brooks was never convicted, however, because polygraph tests are inadmissible in court, so when it was mentioned in court, it was an automatic mistrial. When an informant approached detectives and said that Stanley Dishon told him he had murdered his niece. Detectives took a closer look at the story the informant was telling. It was proved to be true, and Stanley Dishon was convicted.
He took a plea deal in the Bullitt Circuit Courtroom which only required him to serve 20 years in the Kentucky State Penitentiary, and he was to be out on parole in 16 years. In 2 more years, he will be a free man. We cannot let a kidnapper, rapist, and murderer out into the community. It will endanger the families of those he has sexually assaulted, and the Dishon family will not get the justice they deserve.
