Potato wedges were the STAPLE of KFC's menu and set them apart from any other fast food chain out there.  Any time I was feeling nostalgic, potato wedges were what I'd turn to.  As of the first week of June, they have been replaced country-wide by their new "fries" with their famous fried chicken seasoning. 

The part that pisses me off the MOST is that potato wedges remained on KFC's menu not only on their website but on food delivery apps like UberEats and DoorDash during the time that it was "unofficially" taken off their menu around the end of May (before all of the articles came out around June 11).  The deliverer would get to the restaurant and have to call us to let us know that they did not have potato wedges.  This may have been one of the most disappointing calls I've ever received.  Although I decided to give their fries a shot and I kept an open mind, I was thoroughly disappointed.  They simply couldn't replicate the crispy outside and soft inside of their potato wedges.  Their famous seasoning works so much better with the wedge shape.  Not only are their fries worse than their wedges, but McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, and other famous fast food joints have KFC's fries beat by an astronomical amount.

I have tried to replicate the recipe so that I can continue to enjoy potato wedges as I please but alas.. I have had no such luck. Potato wedges are UNMATCHED by any other potato shape.  Please help me save the ONE food that distinguishes KFC from other fast food restaurants!
