Currently, Kent State University does not offer a Korean language class. However, we have a Korean Culture Club and K-Pop Dance Troupe organization at Kent State University, which means a considerable number of students are already interested in Korean culture. Students who wish to take exchange or summer program opportunities at universities in South Korea do not have any option of having credit transfer back as a fulfillment of a Korean language. For this reason, I strongly propose to create an equivalent credit transfer option for the fulfillment of a Korean language course. I also propose the creation of Korean language courses as a minor for students.
