During the fall semester of 2015, Quaker Steak and Lube had its largely successful opening on Kent State's Campus in the lower level of the Student Center. Then in 2019, due to a partnership with Aramark, this restaurant was closed and turned into The Patio. What was once a lively area for students to hang out and enjoy great food - is now being used for storage. The Patio has now moved up on the first floor of the HUB. With restrictions lifting on COVID, with enough attention, that space can be restored to what it once was and bring back a great asset to Kent State.

Why am I doing this? As an employee in the student center, I consistently hear upperclass students, managers and just about anyone else speak about how lively this restaurant was and I believe Kent State deserves to have an area and restaurant selection that is dependable and gives the students a place to hangout and eat with friends. It would also increase the amount of options that are open on campus later than 8pm, if it were to stay consistent with their previous 11pm closing time.
