Katelyn attended Mattson Middle School last year. She liked Mattson and all of her classes there, but was bullied and harrassed on a daily basis. She was scared of going back to school, so she stopped attending Mattson. Katelyn and her mom looked into getting her into a smaller school, called Kent Mountain View Academy, where her brother went. Katelyn thought this school would be a better option because it was a smaller school. So, her mom called the school, and they said they had no room, So her mom asked if she could be put on the wait list. So, her parents talked to the people at Kent Mountain View again. They said I got in because an emergency. I was accepted, even though I said it would be okay if I waited until 9th grade. so clearly, it wasn't an emergency. The next fall, Katelyn looked into going to Kent Phoenix Academy, but that school only accepted high schoolers. However, the staff at Kent Phoenix Academy offered to try to help Katelyn get accepted into Kent Mountain View Academy, but that didn't work either. Now, Katelyn is working hard on an online program called "Khan Academy" to try to prove that she is a responsible enough student to be accepted into Kent Mountain View Academy.
