So, it's official. Doc Mac is not pleased. I've been blocked from his self-congratulating twitter feed. It appears that the good doctor perhaps is suffering from a case of Confirmation Bias. It appears from his high-fiving tweets re: ebooks that he really favours info that supports his foregone conclusion. A.paradis sent him a study that questioned the relevance of e-books. Not generalizable enough. I sent several articles via e mail. No reply. Hmmm. Now after asking him for substance to back up his claims, blocked.
Doc Mac claim: savings. My Experience: BUS 2301 Book, glorified Office for Dummies text, $55 from AC. Office for dummies, ~$20. Taxation Book $68 from AC; from publisher, single copy price (no volume discount) $49. Management information Systems ~$150; Chapters $150. This is just a small sample, it ignores savings from used books, and the loss of resale monies. Who's making out better from e-texts? Students or AC? Maybe AC will post from info on their website.
