File federal charges against Ashley Nicole Richards & Brent Wayne Justice

According to Pet Pardons News and KHOU.com, twenty seven videos were found of Ashley Nicole Richards torturing and killing puppies, kittens, mice, rabbits and other animals while Brent Wayne Justice filmed her actions for paying customers. But because of Texas state law, Harris County Assistant D.A., Belinda Smith, can only charge the couple with two counts of animal cruelty, because the state does not allow “stacking.” All twenty seven of the videos are considered part of the same criminal act, so no matter how many animals were involved, there is still only a maximum sentence of two years and a $2,000 fine. However, Smith stated, “The Federal statute is stronger, and if the case is tried in Federal Court, it could bring a seven year sentence and $10,000 fine." And that is why I am starting this petition: to convince U.S. Attorney, Kenneth Magidson, to file federal charges against Richards and Justice for filming the ritualistic torture and killing of animals for paying customers. The punishment of a maximum sentence of two years and a $2,000 fine under Texas state law is just a slap on the wrist, especially for the heinous and sadistic ways in which these poor animals were killed. Please sign this petition to see that justice is truly meted out to Richards and Justice for the horrific abuse they inflicted on these animals and to set a precedent for tougher punishment for animal abusers.
