STOP UK BANKS FROM RECEIVING MONEY FROM AFRICAN POLITICIANS AND SANCTION BANKS

The Issue

Dear Sir / Madam,

The Africans in the United Kingdom and Europe are fed up with the situation of the people in Africa.

Africa is a continent blessed with diverse natural resources and yet more than half of its citizens are living in abject poverty. Corruption is one of the main cause of sufferings in Africa.

Africa holds Britain in very high esteem and has always worked together to resolve some of the challenges facing Africa. Britain is respected and honored by Africans especially their policies on human right, democracy and the wellbeing of the people in the UK and abroad. We know that Britain has done a lot to combating corruption and human right in Africa, but we are urging the UK to do more.

We are aware that a lot of corrupt politicians in Africa have huge bank accounts, investments, and assets here in the UK and across Europe. The British government and the banks are not ignorant of the source of this money. You will agree with me that this fund is meant for the wellbeing of the people in Africa. We are hereby asking the parliament to come up with a law that punishes or sanctions banks whenever such funds are received. The assets of any politician involved in money laundering should be seized, sold and the money sent back to the country of origin.

The African government cannot fight corruption alone without the help of the west especially the UK because of its influence in the continent of Africa. We in diaspora believe once the UK government takes the necessary measure, the siphoning of funds from Africa to The UK will definitely stop and the politicians will be forced to use the money appropriately.

The UK has over 100 companies that do business in Africa and research shows these companies have not been paying the appropriate tax but rather bribe their way through. These corrupt politicians usually siphon money via these companies as well.

We believe passing this bill will help Africa go a long way economically and politically.

Kind regards,
