Please help! We need you to write to The Royal Parks and Keir Starmer to let them know that there is a huge amount of opposition to closing and gating Primrose Hill.
Six months after Primrose Hill was gated off during the weekend as a 'temporary circuit breaker' the gates are still on the park. Previous deadlines for the removal of these gates on 31st August and end of September have sailed by without any discussion or consultation. The next 'review' is after Bonfire Night. Decisions are being made with no transparency.
We are very concerned that the temporary gating becomes permanent. And that permanent gating slips into dusk closure, depriving thousands of a much loved public resource at night. We have been told that a 'full consultation' should take place before any decision is made but it is unclear what this is, who will be consulted and how. All decisions to date have been made in a secret, with no knowledge of who is making them, why or how. Requests for clarity are ignored. We have every reason to believe that a consultation, should one ever take place, will be the same.
Now is the time to act as a decision needs to be made in the next few weeks about whether to remove the 'temporary' gates, keep them or launch a full consultation.
The solution is very simple. Instead of gating the park, there needs to be better enforcement of existing rules and regulations and more police patrols.

- More police patrols and presence on the park
