Wow. What a weekend. The first weekend of temporary gates on Primrose Hill. BBC London News and The Observer covering the story… And we have now hit 1000 on this petition.
A big THANK YOU to everyone who has signed and shared. Keep up the good work.
Anyone who wants to get further involved can help by filling out the survey below and sharing your ideas and thoughts about what other options should be explored to keep the hill safe and clean, but open. Or just your musings about what a great place it is to be. We want to hear all your voices. There is the option to add your email for more frequent communications from us.

A reminder of our position:
We recognise that there has been some anti-social behaviour in and around Primrose Hill (and this has increased over the last year exacerbated by lockdown).
We want and believe that everybody has the right to feel safe in their homes, local streets and neighbourhood.
We want to achieve this by other means than the installation and closure of gates on Primrose Hill; leaving the park open all night, every night.
Options that we think should be considered instead include:
- Temporary toilets being installed on the hill
- A volunteer force to collect litter, give out rubbish bags and spread positive messages about not littering (We have recently set up such a force, contact us if interested)
- Policing the hill in relation to weather. Regular police patrols which are increased in number on hot days / weekends
- Bringing back the police patrols that ended in 2015
- A concerted effort by police to target known, local drug dealers on the surrounding streets
- Enforcing park regulations and fines being issued for littering, loud amplified music or any other anti-social behaviour
- Police / Councillors working with local off-licences to stop them selling alcohol in bulk or to underage drinkers
- Nearby local shop owners selling to visitors in a way that promotes positive behaviour
- Busy day / night angels helping people out (directing people to bins / toilets…) as seen in Soho
- Postive behaviour messaging and signage throughout the hill
If you can think of ANYTHING else then don’t forget to fill out the survey below and share your thoughts:
